A rare Welsh Cupboard on StandReturn to category

This unusual form of cupboard was made in Carmarthenshire, and possibly Cardiganshire, at the end of the 18th century. It has a finely detailed, dentil cornice and delicately chamfered corners around a pair of twin panel doors which enclose two shelves with a central division. The "potboard" base has two, pine-lined drawers above a boldly shaped frieze. The colour varies from dark to pale straw with beautiful patina.
