The Veddw

18th May 2012

We have been on the a wonderful day out. A group of us went to visit The Veddw, a garden in Monmouthshire, designed and worked by Anne Wareham and her husband, the photographer, Charles Hawes.

We booked the visit some months ago, anxiety was rising as we observed the weather patterns.

The gods were kind and the sun shone, so after a delicious lunch at The Raglan Arms, (highly recommended). We set off in convoy to The Veddw, the new car park lead through new rabbit proof gates, to the garden. What a sight it was, hedges, some clipped and some still fluffy and fresh.
Anne greeted us warmly, handed out the plans and off we went. wandering around her intriquing and challenging garden. The black pool and hill hedges didn't dissapoint. We all gathered on the
bench at the end of the afternoon , our laughter testament  to the joy of the garden.
